My Responsibilities:
- My roles on the project were: Creative Director, Art Director, Concept Artist, and Narrative Designer
- I pitched the project to our team and we developed it over a short time span
- I gave feedback on every aspect of the game, making sure it aligned with the vision of an over-the-top, anime inspired, bowling game
- I created concept art, character designs, and organized a writer's room with two other narrative designers
- I created all the game's Steam assets, marketing materials, and helped develop the trailer
- We also made physical CDs of the game's soundtrack, which I did also the art for
Game Pitch:
Key Learnings:
During Lanesplitterz production, I learned a lot about creative leadership, the importance of being a vision holder, and how to take cool, weird, risks.
The game is flawed. With the experience and expertise I have now, I would make a completely different project. But I'm glad we took the plunge into a weird, fun, unconventional project and published it.
I also learned a lot about the art of the pitch: how to make something that collaborators are excited to be apart of and players want to invest in.
